1. Press and hold CTRL and SHIFT and type: CHEATERCHEATERWIMP - This cheat gives 1 million dollars plus all the supplies you can store.
    
2. Press and hold CTRL and SHIFT and type: PETERCHEATERCHEATERWIMP only works 10 or 11 times before you are kicked out of the game. You can reset the cheat counter by saving your city, quitting the game, running it again and reloading your city. You should buy up lots of real estate before cheating, so as to get the largest amount of building materials possible.
(Note: This embezzlement function does not work on some of the earlier versions of the game.)
 
3. In A-train the annual income tax rate is 50 percent, but property tax is a only 5 percent. So before April 1 assessment day, spend some of your cash on buildings. Buying the buildings gives you  expenses against your income. Letting you report tax free negative income even while generating revenue from the property that you bought.

1. Go to your A-Train directory (type cd atrain or whatever the directory that A-Train is installed in.)
2. Then type:                                       Debug filename.a_t
(Note: Replace "filename" with the name of your saved game.)
    
3. Then you will see a dash and type:   E D78C   Then press enter.
4. Then at the second dash type:          87           Then press enter.
5. Then at the third dash type:              W           (This writes it to the file) Then press enter.
6. Then at the fourth dash type:            Q           (This quits the debug command) Then press enter.
7. Run A-Train and load your city. Your cash has magically increased by $16 million!

• You can run the booming metropolis shown in the demo if you do the following:

1. First run the game, then open SYSTEM menu and select the SAVE option.
2. Save the game.
3. Then simply load your saved scenario.
4. That should give you the demo city.

• The best way to make money quickly is to build a golf course in a good area and sell it for a huge profit as it increases in value. It is advisable to save before you build a golf course because there is a chance that it may not increase in value.
• Build a ski slope just before the ski season begins, but keep it throughout the summer months. Although it will lose money during the summer months, it is more profitable to keep it as it is unlikely you will be able to buy it back during the winter.
• If you lose unexpectedly and wish to continue your game, as soon as you lose, click on New Game and then cancel. Quickly, go to the subsidiary menu and sell some buildings, or go to the bank and borrow the money you need, or just sell some shares of stock if you have some.
• To reduce the amount of money you have to pay in income tax, just before April 1, spend your money on the stock market. This will reduce your income taxes and you will also be able to reclaim the money you spend by selling your shares, either at a slight loss or a slight profit. You can even hold onto your shares and claim a dividends on July 1.

• Stock dividends are paid out on July 1. Even if you purchase them the day before, and sell the day after. Don't forget to watch the opening hours!
• If you buy a stock for $100 or more, the price of the stock must rise 21 points from the time you bought it in order to make any profit. Because the fee when buying or selling stock is 10x+50 (x being the number of stocks bought) or $10 per stock + $50.

In A-Train, you need building materials and money to make city grow. You build railways for the people of the city to get from place to place. You can buy and sell shares of stock, on the Game's Stock Market. In the game you buy and sell buildings like apartments, amusement parks, factories, etc. You can control most of the city. In A-Train Construction Set you can buy buildings and place the railroad track for free. You can increase the money you have when you back to A-Train, all the way up $9,900,000. You can place different types of terrain the map and you can place buildings materials on the map also. A-Train Construction Set is an add-on for A-Train.

• The game is in color in the open menu but is black and white for the rest of the game, Can you help?
  If you play the game in Windows 9x DOS prompt it will be in black and white (It is the same for me in Win95). Try to "Restart to DOS mode" under the Shut Down menu and the game should run in color (it did for me and a few of the other visitors to this site). I hope that helps.
