BusinessWeek picks 'The Best
Products of 2000' has The Sims as one of them. From the
press release for the article:
The Sims (Electronic Arts, Nasdaq:
ERTS)
- A game in which players create neighborhoods right down to the quirky
personalities of its inhabitants.
The December 18th issue of BusinessWeek
featuring "The Best Products of 2000" will be available online and available
on newsstands through December 18th.

The Sims have been elected "Game of the Year" by the readership of
"Bravo Screenfun"! This magazine is considered to be the most
important youth magazine in Germany. I received an email from Daniel Grove, a Maxis
employee and he was able to get a scan of that section of the magazine. Click here

Will Wright had an interview on CNN
Online. Will's live chat was on, Thursday, November 30 at 11:00AM PST to promote
his profile on CNNdotcom, Saturday, December 2. It case you missed the chat you can
get the transcripts.
Redherring.com has an
interesting article about "How
to design a blockbuster game," one of the persons in the article's round
table is Will Wright.

PC World's December 2000 issue has a review of The Sims
Livin' Large, it is on pg. 180 and is at PCWorld.com.
PC Gamer's December 2000 issue has a little information on The Sims Online on pg. 81.
It basically says that little is know on it but that "a public beta is planned to
begin in the second half of 2001 for release possibly at the end of the year."

Quick update: PC Gamer magazine's
November 2000 issue has a review of The Sims Livin' Large. It is on page 137.
The Final Verdict they gave it was an 85%.

Maxis released a Jukebox for The Sims. Go to TheSims.com.

Maxis has expanded the help section on TheSims.com to have information on Livin'
Large. Go to

I updated a few links and other information. I am sorry for the lack of updates, I
have been busy with school and other things. I have been working a little bit on a new
design/tweak for this site, I am trying to finish it soon. To the people that have
emailed me and have not received a response, I am sorry. I don't have the time to
answer every question that I receive currently.

PC Gamer magazine's September
2000 issue has an Opinion section called Extended Play which covers SimCity
3000 Unlimited and a little bit about The Sims Livin' Large. It is on page
140.

PC Gamer magazine's August
2000 issue has a preview of The Sims: Livin' Large.
The preview is on pg. 44 in the Eyewitness section. Also in the issue is their Design
Lab section games are judged by Will Wright, creator of SimCity and The Sims. That is
on pg. 54 and 55.

I updated The Sims page with some The
Sims Livin' Large screen shots and a summary of what the expansion is going to
have included when it is released.
Sometime soon I will have a SimsVille section of this site covering
the new Maxis game coming out in 2001. SimsVille is a game that you
control a community. Go to SimsVille.com

School is over for the summer, so I will try to have more updates. I am working on
restructuring this site with a new design/layout, and more content, which will be
on-line sometime next month hopefully. Now on to the updates.
I updated The Sims page with some The
Sims Livin' Large information and other items. I also did some other minor
updates. I have more items that I am working on to post to the site, some of those
should be up soon, maybe tomorrow.
To celebrate the 5th anniversary of Peter's
Place, the webmaster of the site, Peter is having a contest. He is giving way

Sorry for the lack of updates, I have been busy with school and other things and
did not have the time to update this site.
There is 9 new walls for The Sims on the SimFiles:
The Sims - Walls page. There is also 10 new skins for The Sims on the The
Sims - Skins page. And there is 1 new floor for The Sims on the The
Sims - Floors page. I have lots of other files to still put up so if you sent me a
The Sims file and it is not up, I will try to get to it when I can.
Some of The Sims Questions and Answers have been
updated to reflect the changes from pre-release versions of The Sims to the released
and patched release version.
I also added a Questions and Answers section to the A-Train
page with some common questions about it. There is a few other updates here and there.
Also there is a new poll. Please vote in it if you have not already.

If you downloaded the Guinea Pig add-on and have problems with it download the newer
version from the Downloads
section of TheSims.com
because the first version of the guinea pig had a bug in it.

PC Gamer magazine's April 2000
issue has a Full Review of The Sims and a Strategy Guide.
The review is on pg. 82 and is 4 pages. The PC Gamer Final Verdict was a 96%. The
cover introduces you to The Sims by saying "The Sims: Game of the Year -
already?" The strategy guide is on pg. 150 and is 3 pages.
Also in the April 2000 issue were is the sales figures from PC
Data for the best-selling games of 1999 and the number 2 game is SimCity
3000.
