In part, 1 I advocated building a wide
tower 375 floor spaces across the screen, with 41 offices (and 6 empty floor sections
left over across, a 3 standard elevator between rows 7/8, 21/22, 35/36. The step up
from 2 star to 3 star requires a good cash balance, so you might want to let the tower
run a couple of game quarters to fill up the treasury.
OK, first we need security. All the way to the right,
build up a spire of 16 floor sections to the 15th floor, then put a security facility
on the 15th floor. Being way over to the right, it will not affect future sky lobby
traffic. In newer versions requires, ONE security facility is all you need to get 3
stars. Older versions require 2 facilities, and if you have one just build it also on
the 15th floor, way over to the very left. You now have three stars.
We now need a recycling center. All the way to the
left, put in floor sections from B1 through B5. At the very right, do the same. The
first 5 floors of your basement now have wall to wall floor sections. All the way to
the left, put your first recycling center on floors 4 and 5. Future additions will go
on floors 6 and 7, and 8 and 9. At the very left, add a service elevator and one car,
extending from B5 to the 4th floor.
On the 4th floor, at the very left, put in a
housekeeping facility, two hotel suites, and then a medical facility. Demolish offices
as needed to fit them in. You the medical facility, and in this location it acts as a
sound buffer for the hotel suites. The hotel suites being on the 4th floor mean little
stress when the VIP visits.
Back to the basement. Just to the right of each of
the 3 standard elevators, drop a bank of 5 escalators from the ground floor lobby to
floor B5. That's 15 escalators. Now at the very right hand side put in parking ramps
down to floor B5, then build parking spaces all the way across on floor B5 until the
last one bumps up against the recycling center. That should be enough parking spaces
for the offices and suites.
The Sims can park on B5, take the escalators up to
the ground floor lobby, then the elevators to their offices. Later you will need to
put in express elevators just to the right or left of the standard
elevators/escalators. When you have more money.
Before that, you have all that empty space on floors
B1 to B4. Put in a commercial zone. 4 movie theaters on floors B3 and B4, spaced
evenly across the tower. Fill up with shops, not fast food or restaurants. Shops give
you the best population growth and money. Soon you should be able to set all shop
rents to their highest levels of $20,000 per quarter. Squeeze the shops in and squeeze
the owners dry. Show no mercy.
The money should be pouring in every quarter, and now
we need to think about putting in a hotel. That is in part 3.
