- How long does it take for a Sims day to go by?
This is still being tuned but we currently have it set at about 1 real minute = 1
game hour. Each second is a Sim Minute then. This may change.
- Do you have to tell your character to go to the bathroom?
Yes, you need to buy toilets so the Sims can go to the bathroom or they will have
accidents.
- Will the sims be able to raise and plant a garden for food?
We couldn't do that in this game but it is definitely "on the table" as
an improvement. It would be great if we could have organic farming vs. pesticide
farming too. One might be healthier and better for the Sims, but would be harder
to grow and require much more time and energy. What kinds of scenarios would be
cool for garden do you think? I think you would have to maintain water,
fertilizer, watch out for snails and birds (make a scarecrow). You could even
raise chickens and vegetables for sale? Then you could make home baked bread which
would make your Sims MUCH happier than store bought bread?
- Will The Sims have support for EAX
like SimCity 3000?
Yes, The Sims will have EAX
support.
- Since you can have Sim kids in the game can they have friends over and can
the kids date other kids?
Kids can invite their friends over but we don't have dating. (they are only about
10 years old really).
- Can the kids runaway or stay over at their friends house?
Babies will be taken away by social workers if you are a bad parent and kids can
be shipped of to military school if their grades are bad enough.
- What happens if the people the criminal sim is stealing
from wakes up?
They can call the police to arrest the burglar.
- If the neighbors you stole from come over and see THEIR TV (or stove, or
couch, etc.) what do they do?
It can't be recognized.
- If the sim is caught stealing by a cop, does he or she get sent to jail? And
if the sim gets sent to jail, who do you control then?
Unfortunately, the webcam scenario as played in Maxis webcam, WILL NOT be
available in the final game. We made it look that way because the script submitted
to us called for a Sim to be a burglar. BUT
1. YOU CAN HAVE A CAREER AS A CRIMINAL WHERE YOU DRESS LIKE A BURGLAR.
2. BURGLARS WILL TRY AND STEAL FROM YOU...they may come in your sleep so
your bets bet is the hasty purchase of a SimSentry IV Burglar Alarm.
- When a person proposes, are they automatically married, or at a certain time
they get married?
Marriages are automatic.
- Do we see a scene of the wedding?
There is a wedding animation.
- When a woman is pregnant from kissing, does she automatically have the baby?
Baby delivery is automatic.
- Can create more than one neighborhood (filled with 10 people)?
While there is one neighborhood, you will be able to create hundreds of
families and swap houses in and out of the neighborhood.
- Can you build a maze made of hedge rows on the sims
property?
Yes.
- Can you tell the them to go into the maze (see above question) and get them
lost?
Yes.
- How many sims can there be in a game that includes
computer controlled and human controlled?
Here is how it will work:
You can make a family with up to 8 people in it...or as they said on TV when I was
a kid, "Eight is enough".
Since there are 10 houses in the same neighborhood, you can control a total of 80
custom made people...but only 8 at a time because only one house can be played at
a time...BUT...
The other people in the other houses will come visit you and you can make friends
with them...or enemies....the people in the other families that you don't
currently control will be computer controlled. So if you do the math 80 total - 8
in current house means you can have a whopping total of 72 friends.
If you go back to their houses later, you will control them and the other people
you left will then be computer controlled.
- If you Sim's house is dirty does that effect how happy he
is or something else?
ABSOLUTELY. It will effect the mood of everyone. If your house is a mess your sims
will be more unhappy, as will guests who come to visit.
- Can you have twins in the game?
There is a finite number of skins that will be included in the game. But players
will have the option of making their own skins or downloading others from Web
sites.
